Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh serves as the Chief Consultant of Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital in Chandpur, where he has dedicated his expertise to eye care since 1982. As a specialist in ophthalmology, his areas of expertise include cataract and glaucoma treatment, general ophthalmology, and community ophthalmology, underpinned by significant roles in hospital administration and monitoring.
He earned his medical degree (MBBS) from Sylhet M. A. G. Osmani Medical College, and further advanced his training with a DCO from the Institute of Community Ophthalmology. Under Dr. Sheikh’s leadership, the hospital continues to deliver high-quality, specialized eye care to the community, aligned with its mission to fight avoidable blindness and its vision of a society where “eradication of blindness is a reality and new blindness is prevented.” In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sheikh contributes to the hospital’s outreach and community eye health initiatives, helping to guide programs that serve underserved populations.
